Final Major Project
Exploring a theme:
During my time at college I have explored quite a few themes. Out of the ones we have done I enjoyed identity the most. I liked being able to use that theme to sort of express myself and there was quite a few sub themes I was able to explore. Material wise i have mostly enjoyed using paints, pencil and collages. I like that with those materials I am able to display a range of textures and designs and im able to explore colour as well. I like as well with collage I'm able to create them using fabric and things like Photoshop too i think they are interesting and good to show exploration of materials.
For FMP I want to explore the theme 'past and present' with this theme I'm able to explore different materials and techniques to present characters during different time periods.

theme mood board - I'm interested in past and present fashion so i am going to focus this project around that. I enjoy Victorian fashion the most so I will use Victorian fashion as a main focus and my sub theme.

i want to use collage, paint, fabric, charcoal and maybe clay in this project to produce experimental works for my theme.

dress ideas

These are some dress ideas i drew out based off of different styles of Victorian dresses. I did some in pen and some i used printed scans of my collage to create shapes to make a dress. I will use these to inform my work by looking into these a bit more and deciding what style of dress i want to base my work off of

I did some quick sketches of some ideas for my final piece. I like number 4 the most and I think I'll use that to direct me when making my dress. I think I could probably add more detail to the dress but for now that is the ideas I have. I will play around with different textures and materials within this piece by using plastic bags, cardboard, crisp packets and string.
presenting outcomes
For the exhibition I will definitely be presenting my dress that I've been doing for FMP I will have that as the main piece of work I'm displaying with it probably being in the middle. I'm not sure if I will have a background at all other than a few other pieces of work that I want to display as I want the focus to mainly be on the dress. On the wall behind my dress I would also like to put up my photoshop pieces that I did in the protest unit as I really like them pieces as well. I am also thinking about maybe also putting up my experimental works i.e. my fabric and material collages as I think it would be nice to show some of my experimental works.
